The Urban Development Institute (UDI) of Greater Edmonton
Welcome to UDI Greater Edmonton Chapter

The Urban Development Institute (UDI) is a national, non-profit association representing the development industry. Our members are development companies and professionals involved in the industry such as planners, surveyors, architects, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, lawyers and a variety of municipalities and utility companies. Regional offices of UDI are located in the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. The UDI Canada office is currently located in Vancouver.

Our membership nationwide stands at approximately 1,000 companies representing thousands of individuals. Recognizing that the development of land is an essential function of our national economy, UDI's activities and objectives focus on promoting wise, efficient and productive urban growth.

UDI Alberta was incorporated in 1958 and today has chapters in Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Grande Prairie, Cold Lake and Wood Buffalo. Since the majority of development related issues occur at the municipal level, local chapters such as UDI Edmonton are the most active bodies of our association.
